Reading & Spelling

Structured Literacy Sessions

Reading intervention grounded in the science of reading — building foundational skills for students who need more than the classroom can offer.

Students with reading delays, dyslexia, or language-based learning differences benefit from individual and small-group, structured literacy instruction.

Structured literacy is the most effective, evidence-based approach for teaching reading and writing — especially for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Structured literacy sessions provide intensive, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

What's included:

  • Phonemic awareness and phonics instruction (Orton-Gillingham informed)
  • Fluency and decoding practice with decodable texts
  • Vocabulary development
  • Written expression and sentence-level composition
  • Progress monitoring and regular family communication

Special Education Support

IEP & Special Education Consulting

Navigating the IEP process can feel overwhelming. We're here to make it clear, collaborative, and effective.

Families of students with IEPs, parents preparing for initial special education evaluations, and school teams seeking outside consultation.

An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is one of the most powerful tools available to students with learning differences — but only when it's written well and implemented faithfully. We partner with families and schools to make sure that happens.

What's included:

  • IEP review, development, and goal-setting support
  • Preparation for IEP meetings and school conferences
  • Advocacy for appropriate services and accommodations
  • Coordination between families, schools, and specialists
  • Attendance at IEP meetings

Teacher & Staff Support

Special Education Teacher Support Services

Reduce teacher overwhelm, strengthen special education practices, and create sustainable systems.

School districts, charter schools, private schools, individual school-site special education teams, and home-school co-ops seeking consultation on creating an effective special education model and learning environment.

Vital Literacy and Special Education Partners provides specialized consultation and coaching services designed to support special education teachers and support staff in creating effective, organized, and compliant learning environments. Services focus on strengthening classroom management, structure and organization, special education compliance, and IEP case management skills (SEIS). Through practical, individualized support, educators receive tools, systems, and strategies that can be immediately implemented to improve daily classroom operations, manage caseload responsibilities, maintain accurate and timely documentation, and confidently create special education programs and services. Special education experiences high turnover because educators often manage a combination of high caseloads, extensive compliance requirements, complex student needs, limited resources, and significant time pressures. Special education teachers are responsible not only for delivering individualized instruction, but also for developing and implementing IEPs, collecting data, coordinating services, communicating with families, managing behavior, and meeting strict legal timelines. When adequate training, classroom systems, and collaboration are lacking, these responsibilities can become overwhelming and contribute to burnout. Providing teachers with practical support in classroom management, organization, IEP case management, compliance, and instructional systems can reduce these pressures and help create more sustainable special education programs.

What's included:

  • Teacher coaching- behavior and academic interventions
  • Teacher coaching- effective classroom management systems for diverse populations
  • Teacher coaching-  IEP compliance and case management
  • Individualized consultation and collaboration on various topics based on your program, school site, and classroom needs
